The ceremony of lighting the lights on the main tree will open the program of New Year and Christmas events in Mogilev on December 15. After the fluffy beauty sparkles on Lenin Square, the musical “Star Light” will be shown here, the Mogilev City Executive Committee said.
The program of festive events in the regional center is scheduled from December 15 to January 15. It includes several dozen events that will delight Mogilev residents and city guests almost every day, creating a good mood and an indescribable atmosphere. The list of the most spectacular initiatives includes the New Year's car parade “Father Frost is Driving!”, which starts on December 23 at 14.00. A procession of festively decorated cars, accompanied by fairy-tale characters, will start from Lenin Square and drive along Pervomaiskaya and Pionerskaya streets. On the same day at 18.00, a flash mob “The Biggest Round Dance” is planned on Unity Square.
During the New Year and Christmas holidays, special attention will be paid to charitable events so that every child can feel warmth, care and attention. Cultural and educational institutions everywhere will host charitable initiatives as part of the “Our Children” campaign - for orphans, disabled people, children from large families and those without parental care. Charity events are planned in family-type orphanages and educational institutions. And on December 22 at 14.00 there will be a New Year's holiday for children in a socially dangerous situation. The event will take place at the Mogilev Gymnasium-College of Arts named after E. Glebov.
Charity event and concert for orphans and children with disabilities “Our Children!” will take place on December 23 at 11.00 at the Mogilev Children's Hospice. For a special category of children - left without parental care, orphans, low-income people - a New Year's holiday with a performance will be organized on December 2, 9 at 11.00 at the regional Palace of Culture. On the same day, a similar interactive event will be held here for pupils of “SOS - Children’s Village Mogilev”.
Thematic exhibitions will create a festive mood. Thus, in the open area near the second building of the Mogilev Gymnasium-College of Arts named after E. Glebov, from December 15 to January 15, an open-air gallery “The Magic of a New Year’s Card” will be placed. Children's art schools will host exhibitions of works by students called "Winter Fairytale Time". On December 22 at 16.00, the exhibition “Tales of Winter Mogilev” will open in the exhibition hall on Boldin Street.
During the holidays from December 17 to 29, students of the Glebov Gymnasium-College of Arts organize performances at the residence of Father Frost, which will be located in the institution. Other educational institutions will host New Year's interludes and holiday concerts, matinees, as well as music and game programs. In turn, the children's art school No. 1 named after I.M. Luchenko will present a competition for the best carnival costume on December 23 at 12.00 , and the children's art school No. 6 will organize a master class on making the New Year's composition “Candle of Wishes” on December 26 at 14.00 .
The Mogilev History Museum is preparing an unusual event for its visitors on December 29 , where from 21.00 to 23.00 everyone will be able to take part in the New Year’s quest “Night of Magic in the Town Hall”. The city's libraries will invite their readers to take part in the New Year's marathon "Interactive Winter, or New Year without Borders" and write a letter to Santa Claus. And lovers of classical music on January 5 at 18.00 are invited by the city Center of Culture and Leisure to the concert “New Year's Magic” of the Mogilev City Chapel.
Exciting holiday festivities will also take place in the open areas of the city. Mostly they will be organized in front of cinemas, cultural centers and creativity centers. For example, in Theater Square from December 23 you can watch New Year's theatrical fairy tales and visit the themed fair “Store with Gifts”. On January 1, from 1.00 to 4.00, the festive program “Happy New Year, Mogilev!” will take place on Unity Square, and from 18.00 to 21.00 a New Year's disco will take place here.
On New Year's Eve, music and entertainment programs will be organized in several neighborhoods of the city. Family holiday “New Year - just forward!” scheduled for January 2 from 12.00 to 14.00 in the city park Podnikolye. On the same day, on Unity Square from 16.00 to 19.00, the festive program “Song of the Year in Mogilev” will be presented.
On January 5, 6 and 7 the city will celebrate Christmas. Among the largest events is the regional cultural and sports festival “Merry Christmas - 2024!” in the sports complex "Torpedo" ( January 6 from 12.00 to 16.00 ), as well as festive festivities "Christmas in Podnikolye" ( January 7 from 12.00 to 16.00 ).
