The Osipovichi Region is one of the most picturesque places of Belarus. The region is situated in the south-west part of the Mogilev oblast within the Central-Berezina plain. The territory of the region is predominantly flat with a slight rise in its western part. The forests make up 60% of the region’s territory, farmland - 29%, lakes and ponds – 2%, swamps -2%. Some 20 rivers flow through the region, including three major rivers – Berezina, Svisloch, Ptich. Total length of the river network is 351km. There is a large water-storage (1307.7 hectares), a water power plant and the Svisloch fish farm on the Svisloch.
