The Osipovichi Region is one of the most picturesque places of Belarus. The region is situated in the south-west part of the Mogilev oblast within the Central-Berezina plain. The territory of the region is predominantly flat with a slight rise in its western part. The forests make up 60% of the region’s territory, farmland - 29%, lakes and ponds – 2%, swamps -2%. Some 20 rivers flow through the region, including three major rivers – Berezina, Svisloch, Ptich. Total length of the river network is 351km. There is a large water-storage (1307.7 hectares), a water power plant and the Svisloch fish farm on the Svisloch.

President of Belarus in Brazil on a working visit

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is in the Federative Republic of Brazil on a working visit, BelTA learnt from the head of state’s press service.
Alexander Lukashenko is scheduled to meet with President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Governor of the Brazilian State of Goias Alcides Rodrigues Filho.
